Sandra Ann Walters is a storyteller at heart, a dedicated editor, and a passionate writing coach committed to helping others find and share their voices. A proud wife to Trent D. Walters and mother of two young adults, Sandra’s journey with words began in middle school when she discovered the power of journaling. As a shy child who often felt unheard, writing became her refuge—a way to express her thoughts and emotions when words failed her aloud.

With a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of North Texas, Sandra dedicated over 20 years to shaping young minds as a Language Arts teacher across elementary, middle, and high school levels in both suburban and inner-city schools throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Her deep love for storytelling and literacy never wavered, ultimately leading her to pursue her passion full-time.

Now, as a self-employed author, publisher, and editor of her community magazine, Sandra thrives in bringing stories to life. Through Our Inspiring Stories, she coaches aspiring writers, crafts compelling narratives, conducts insightful interviews, and assists clients with becoming self-published authors. She firmly believes that testimonies have the power to inspire, prompt healing, and teach, and she’s on a mission to help others share theirs.​​

Teaching Under The Influence
Teaching Under The Influence is dedicated to educators who were called by God to this noble profession. Being a teacher is like belonging to a unique sorority—one where an unspoken bond is shared and understood on a deep level. The purpose of this book is to give educators a voice in a safe environment to work through everyday difficulties and a guide to process the trauma and triggers associated with teaching.
INTRODUCTION
Initially, as I considered writing this book, I was captivated by the title and imagined it portraying me as a distinguished educator. But as soon as I began typing, I realized that I didn’t always present myself as an exemplary teacher. On certain days, I was grateful that I wasn’t arrested for having an emotional breakdown. As I continued to write, I had the overwhelming impression that my experience was all about God, and He needed to receive all the glory. Many times, He told me to let Him fight my battles instead of fighting them myself. Sometimes, I left places, not clearly aware that it was His protection. To be clear, I can’t give myself credit. It was all God.
Eventually, I recognized there were many people I needed to forgive. I didn’t even realize I was operating in unforgiveness because I learned to block people and situations out of my mind to move on. However, when I saw them or rehearsed a past experience, I could feel the tension in my body if I hadn’t forgiven them or gotten past the circumstances.
So, I was directed to write this book for current and former educators who have been hurt by the broken educational system. God wouldn’t direct me to drag people through my trauma and triggers without sharing a perspective to assist them with the healing process.

This allows the reader to think about the positives of various similar circumstances and describe a new way(s) to respond if necessary.
Teaching Under The Influence Toolbox:
The toolbox provides the reader with scriptures to speak God’s protection over their lives and environment.

I actually got into UT Austin, so that’s where I will be going to school in the fall! I applied to other schools like the University of Georgia, UNC-Chapel Hill, Clemson, and some others as fall back plans because I didn’t think I was actually going to get in because I’m not top 6%! I’m still waiting to hear back from those schools, but I already committed to UT!
